Welcome to Making Music Yorkshire
Making Music Yorkshire is one of the thirteen volunteer Committees of Making Music, the UK's largest umbrella body for amateur music with over 2800 members groups.
Making Music represents and supports amateur and semi-professional music groups of all genres throughout the United Kingdom, providing a comprehensive range of artistic and administrative services and development and training opportunities. Making Music also lobbies on behalf of its members to national and local government and other agencies. Making Music Yorkshire provides a link between the umbrella body and its members in this region and covers the same area as the Arts Council England Yorkshire (ACEY). There are currently over 190 groups in the region: choral groups, instrumental groups and chamber music promoters. Our role is to support Making Music members in Yorkshire and the Humber and we welcome anyone who has an interest in any aspect of music-making.
